Having heard of a beauty pageant in her parents home land on SBS Radio’s Romanian program, Andreea jumped at the opportunity to compete . Success at the pageant exposed her to and instilled a sense of duty toward the less privileged of Romania.
Madeleine lives in the van in the backyard. Listening to the radio has developed her language to the point that she thinks in French and dreams of France.
During Nit’s early years in the kitchens of Thai restaurants, the tedium and hard work could only be overcome with the joy brought through listening to SBS Thai radio program. Today Nit enjoys cooking at home for an extended family and her many friends that call by.

Recently I was commissioned to document the facilities accessible through the University of Sydney’s Fisher Library. I made a return visit to further document the bizarre combination of academic utilitarianism and turn of the century aesthetic .
In July this year Wollongong City Gallery gave me the opportunity of staging my first solo exhibition. I chose to document the coal miners of the Illawarra , a visually striking group of men, the likes of which may not be about for much longer. A particularly inspiring as individuals when compared with most office-dwelling workers, considering the dangers and hardship they face in order to keep our air conditioners humming .

Sometime ago I spent three weeks traveling the USA photographing Westfield shopping malls. A spare day in San Diego offered the opportunity for a quick escape, back in the real world of Rosarito Beach , Tijuana . These pictures were taken on a disposable 3D camera the prints of which which offered an added stylistic element fitting of this seaside resort.
